Jamie Reschny

Research Manager

Jamie has been involved in community-focused social and health research for the past 20 years. He has worked as a volunteer, research administrator, consultant and researcher with multiple Universities, community-based organisations, as well as funders and service providers, on topics ranging from to research administration, community development, climate change, and harm reduction. Another significant aspect of his life is building, creating, and renovating spaces. He and his partner are currently remodeling a former Anglican church in Saint John, New Brunswick. The finished project will be a 2-unit residence, workshop, and business venue.

What brought you to this role?

I started working with Dr. Parkes in 2009

What is your professional/research focus?

I am research consultant that focuses in providing research services, such as proposal writing, research administration, and report/publication writing

How are you committing to reconciliation/upholding Indigenous sovereignty?

Everyday, trying to push the narrative and change the discourse

What is the most inspiring part of your work?

Watching students and faculty advance their careers and develop as individuals

The best piece of advice you've ever been given is...

to try to do something that scares you once a day.
