On June 5th and 6th, the Koh-Learning in Our Watersheds program, in collaboration with SD91 and UNBC graduate students participating in the CoPEH Canada course, hosted the Koh-Learning Spring Event in Granisle. Students from across School District 91 (SD91) joined students from Babine Elementary Secondary School for an immersive, hands-on experience.
Activities included plant identification, canoeing, and building their own watershed models, providing students with practical knowledge and skills. Additionally, participants gained familiarity with the Fulton River Spawning Channel, enhancing their understanding of local ecosystems and the importance of watershed stewardship.
We hope that all participants embraced these wonderful experiences, learnt from each activity, and achieved their educational goals. This event aimed to foster a deeper connection to our natural environment and inspire future environmental stewardship among our students.
