About LEAPH?

LEAPH (Learning from Eco-social Approaches to Health) is a collaborative space designed to foster learning that connects health, ecosystems and equity.

LEAPH is still growing, but its story can be glimpsed through the LEAPH name, logo and the work that comes to our life through our branches, supported by the LEAPH Lab.

Our Name: LEAPH (Learning from Eco-Social Approaches to Public Health):

~is about Learning. LEAPH is premised on learning from and with others, across people, species, cultures, disciplines and generations: connecting our past, present and future.

~is Eco-social. LEAPH values the ecological and social relationships that shape our health and well-being, and is committed to learning from the co-benefits that arise when we combine an ecological perspective with championing equity for health.

~is about Approaches. LEAPH recognises the value of more than one approach to our work. Pluralism and diversity matter, and require openness and commitment to learning from multiple knowledges and perspectives;

~is Planetary, Public, and Personal. LEAPH is committed to promoting and protecting public health, and to do so pays attention to the micro, meso, macro and meta relationships that influence our health (Redvers et al 2023).

~is about Health… LEAPH focuses on the eco-social relationships that influence the health of people, place and planet.

Our Logo: Learning from Eco-Social Approaches to Public Health is founded on deep respect and gratitude for 'all our relations', and all living systems on our planetary home. Our logo reminds us that the same patterns of life flow through our bodies, all plants and all of the lands and waters we depend on.

How do you see  yourself in our logo? Or in the different LEAPH branches and team members?
